Anne McCaffrey

Ann McCaffrey is an American author best known for her Dragonriders of Pern series, although she has also written romance and young adult novels. Her novels are often a combination of science fiction and fantasy and incorporate themes of social and personal changes away from tradition. McCaffrey is known for her rich descriptions of pastoral or technological worlds, as well as her development of strong lead characters.
